By clicking the link bringing you to this page- You have taken the first steps on your journey.

You will be working with your friends/family to help you along the way.

First things first. . .

Grab your phone to lead you and a pen to sign the log at each cache

Have fun, be ADVENTurous, take your time and enjoy the time you have

to be on this journey with a God who loves you so much he came to earth as Jesus!

Please be considerate of the places you will be exploring by doing this Advent Geocache during daylight hours

(No one needs the police called on the sketchy people running through front yards). At each stop the item is placed somewhere in the front yard- Please do not go in side or back yards

There are 6 stops- at each stop/cache please take only 1 item PER HOUSEHOLD

My suggestion is to collect all 6 items and find a place in your home to put the items in order to remember

and have further conversations around advent

After taking your item from the cache please sign your family name to the list and put the cache back exactly where and how you

found it so the next group can enjoy it

Please take some photos to document your groups adventure and either tag @unionchapelkids or send them to

marissa@ucvancouver.com

WE BEGIN OUR JOURNEY.

WHAT EXPECTATIONS AND HOPES DO YOU HAVE AS WE GET NEARER TO CHRISTMAS? WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING?  WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO EATING? WHO IS SOMEONE YOU ARE EXCITED TO SEE?  WHAT ARE SOME TRADITIONS YOU HAVE THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO PARTICIPATING IN?

TAKE A SEED. SUCH A TINY THING, YET WITH SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH. LET IT REMIND YOU OF YOUR SEEDS OF HOPE, YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS CHRISTMAS.

USE THE WORDS BELOW TO THINK ABOUT YOUR SEED AND ITS POTENTIAL.

Isaiah 43:16-19:

This is what God says,
    the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
    who carves a path through pounding waves,
The God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
    they lie down and then can’t get up;
    they’re snuffed out like so many candles:
“Forget about what’s happened;
    don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
    It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
    rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’
    —the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
    rivers through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
    the people I made especially for myself,
    a people custom-made to praise me.

"THINGS GREAT HAVE SMALL BEGINNINGS. EVERY DOWNPOUR IS JUST A RAINDROP; EVERY FIRE IS JUST A SPARK; EVERY HARVEST IS JUST A SEED; EVERY JOURNEY IS JUST A STEP BECAUSE WITHOUT THAT STEP THERE WILL BE NO JOURNEY; WITHOUT THAT RAINDROP THERE CAN BE NO SHOWER; WITHOUT THAT SEED THERE CAN BE NO HARVEST."   - WILLIAM WILBERFORCE
