SERVE AT UNION CHAPEL

Jesus teaches us to love and serve each other. The reality is that we love and serve in many different ways and in different places. We serve our families, our neighbors, our co-workers, our clients, and we serve the less fortunate.  Serving your church family isn't the only place you live a life of service,  but it is so vital to the work of our community. If you consider Union Chapel your home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider how you could serve your church family.

Read through these descriptions below and feel free to contact a group leader at any time!

  • Our ushering team is focused on creating a hospitable environment for everyone who steps into our building.  The ushers are responsible for greeting people when they arrive in the sanctuary, helping late comers find seats and provide a welcoming presence.  Contact Melanie Miles for more info.

  • We know the importance of creating a safe place for people to worship, especially for our children.  Creating and maintaining an environment where parents and kids feel safe is  high priority.  The security ministry is the eyes and ears of whats going on outside of the sanctuary during the service.   Contact Melanie Miles for more info.

  • Those who serve on the hospitality team have the opportunity to be the first face people see each Sunday.  We get to represent the heart of God - that of a warm and welcoming host - to each person.   We know that he has loved us in this way, and so we can join His team by loving others in the same way. Contact Melanie Miles for more info.

  • The Prayer team is an opportunity for us to bear one another's burdens and to support one another in our desire for growth in our walk with Jesus.  Prayer team members listen and pray for people about their concerns.  It's not counseling, it's simply standing with another person in prayer.  Contact Jenny Sites for more info.

  • We supply the fuel for our church community!  Whether it be coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or hot cider, we are the team that helps create a welcoming space in the lobby by providing beverages.  If serving people in a practical way is something you enjoy, coffee team is a great option for you.  Contact Melanie Miles for more info.

  • The A/V team is a great way to serve at our weekly gatherings.  This team operates as a part of our worship team and plays an important role in skillfully assisting the musical  worship and communication aspects of the morning.  Contact Nathan Northy for more info.

  • We believe our worship shapes... so the way we worship matters.  Music has a unique ability to shape our hearts and lead us toward God.  If you have musical experience and are interested in being a part of the Worship team, contact Chris LaPore for more info.

  • For many of us, some of the most formative relationships we've had in regards to our faith were with a youth leader or a mentor who invested in our life as a young adult.  One caring adult can have such an immense impact on the life of a teenager.  Are you passionate about this?  Contact Ben Ritter for more info.

  • Part of being a downtown church is the opportunity we have to play an integral role in the surrounding community.  We can do this by facilitating cultural events and opening up our space to those outside of our church family.   If you are interested in being on this team,

Contact Melanie Miles for more info.
